Why I Chose the Name Aquasole For My Creative Studio
It All Started With a Love For the Italian Language
I’ve always had an affinity for the Italian language since my college years. Back in the day, I loved listening to Italian music. Eros Ramazzotti was one of my favorite Italian singers.
I couldn’t help being drawn to various aspects of the Italian culture. I ended up taking a bunch of Italian classes in college and eventually got to visit a handful of Italian cities while studying abroad in Spain.
For whatever reason, I have an fondness towards the Italian language. Maybe it’s the way Italians pronounce their words and their cool melodic accent. Or maybe growing up listening to, speaking and studying Spanish all throughout high school and college fueled a curiosity in me in to learn another language. Whatever the reason may be, my love for the Italian language would lead me to the name that I would eventually select for my design studio.
How I Went About Choosing the Name Aquasole
As I was brainstorming and looking for a name to select for my new design business venture, I came up with various possibilities. The course, “How to name your brand or product”, on Skillshare by Faye Brown was a great resource when trying to choose my business name. It helped guide me through the process of deciding on a name for my business and one that felt like me.
Some brand names that I came upon while brainstorming possibilities were solymar, wellness creative, benessere studio and a whole bunch more. In the end, I decided I wanted to somehow incorporate the Italian language into the name to give it a unique sound and gentle feeling.
Ultimately, I chose the word Aquasole. I kept coming back to this name. It’s comprised of two Italian words. One meaning water (aqua) and the other sun (sole).
My summer vacations are often filled with the sun and the sea. One of my favorite places to vacation is Miami Beach. I love relaxing by the ocean and basking in the sun. This spot has brought me a lot of peace and a wonderful sense of tranquility over the years.
The ocean is a symbol of strength, life and hope. Its calming aqua color represents peace, gentleness and empathy. The shining rays of the sun fill me with warmth and happiness!
This name made me feel a sense of calmness and happiness that felt just right. I wanted to showcase that all throughout my website’s branding elements like color, imagery and textures.
I also want my customers to feel at ease and cared for while experiencing all of my services. I hope they get a sense of that throughout my branding and web design process.
